WordPress Website Maintenance Packages

Recurring Care Plans

WordPress Maintenance Packages

Keep your WordPress site secure, fast and up to date every month without lifting a finger. Professional care plans for private customers and small to medium sized businesses, starting from £100 per month.

Your WordPress Site Needs Regular Care to Stay Safe

WordPress powers over 40% of all websites on the internet, which also makes it the most targeted platform by hackers and automated bots. Outdated plugins, themes and WordPress core software are the number one cause of hacked websites, broken functionality and lost business.

Most business owners are too busy running their companies to log into WordPress every month, check every update, run security scans and verify their backups are working. That is exactly where we come in. Our monthly maintenance packages do all of that for you, quietly and reliably, so you can focus on your business.

Did you know? Over 90% of hacked WordPress sites were running outdated plugins or themes at the time of the attack. A single breach can take your site offline for days, damage your reputation and cost far more to fix than a year of maintenance ever would.

Every update is applied carefully. Every backup is checked. Every security report is read by a real person rather than filed and forgotten. You then get a clear monthly summary so you always know where your site stands.

Who Are These Packages For?

These packages suit private customers and small to medium sized businesses who have a WordPress website they rely on but do not have the time or the technical knowledge to look after it. Local businesses, professional services, WooCommerce shops and growing companies with a site that matters to the day to day running of the business.

Everything is handled remotely by email. There are no calls to sit through and no meetings to arrange.

What Actually Happens Each Month

Here is exactly what goes on behind the scenes to keep your WordPress site healthy, secure and performing properly.

Plugin & Theme Updates

Every plugin and theme is updated carefully, checking for conflicts along the way. Nobody clicks update all and walks away. Everything is checked to be still working before the job is signed off.

WordPress Core Updates

When WordPress releases a new version it is applied once it has proven stable. Security releases are applied promptly. Major releases are applied carefully with a backup taken first.

Backups

Backups go to cloud storage that you own and control, not to my systems. That means the backups stay yours even if you leave. Frequency is set to suit your site, daily for a shop, less often for a brochure site. A backup nobody has checked is not a backup you can rely on, so checking they completed is part of every package.

Security Scanning

Security scanning runs on your own site using Wordfence, which I install and configure. Each month the reports get read and anything that matters gets acted on. If you would rather not have Wordfence, file changes are compared month to month instead, which catches injected files and anything appearing where it should not.

Uptime Monitoring

Your site is monitored around the clock, so if it goes offline it gets picked up quickly, usually before you or your customers notice. For a shop, every minute offline costs money.

Monthly Report

At the end of each month you get a plain English summary of what was done, the current state of your site and anything worth thinking about. No jargon and no padding.

How the Terms Work

12 month contract. Packages run for a fixed 12 month term. Pay monthly or pay for the year in advance and get two months free. At the end of the term it renews for a further 12 months unless you give notice at least 30 days before the renewal date.

Included support time does not roll over. If you do not use your 30 minutes, hour or 90 minutes in a given month, it does not carry into the next one. It works like insurance, not like a bank of hours.

Pre-existing faults are not included. Anything already broken when you join is quoted separately at the standard hourly rate. Included support time covers work arising after you have joined and becomes available seven days after the package starts. If your site is broken today, the repair comes first and the package comes after.

Work beyond your included time is charged at £150 per hour for businesses and £120 per hour for private customers, with a one hour minimum, then half hours after that. You will always be told before any billable work is started.

Backup setup is quoted separately. Connecting your site to off site storage, configuring the schedule and testing a restore is a one off job. If you already have working backups, they simply get checked as part of your package instead. Cloud storage is paid directly by you to whichever provider you choose, so the account and the data remain yours.

Everything is handled by email. No calls, no meetings. It is faster for both of us and it means the work gets done rather than talked about.

Maintenance Package FAQs

How long is the contract?
12 months. You can pay monthly or pay for the year in advance and get two months free. It renews for a further 12 months unless you give notice at least 30 days before the renewal date. A fixed term is what makes a fixed monthly price possible.
My site is broken right now. Can I sign up and have it fixed?
The repair comes first and is quoted separately. Pre-existing faults are not covered by a maintenance package and included support time becomes available seven days after the package starts. Once the site is working, a package keeps it that way.
What happens if something breaks during an update?
A backup is always taken before updates are applied. If something breaks, it gets rolled back and investigated before trying again. On Packages B and C this is covered within your included time. On Package A it is assessed and quoted if it goes beyond the 30 minutes.
Do you maintain WooCommerce sites?
Yes, WooCommerce is one of my specialities. Package C includes specific WooCommerce health checks covering products, payments, shipping, tax settings and checkout. If you run a shop, Package C is the one that keeps it trading.
Where are my backups stored?
In cloud storage you own and pay for directly, such as your own cloud drive or a low cost server account. Your data never sits on my systems and if you ever stop working with me the backups stay with you. Setting it up the first time is a one off job quoted separately. If you already have backups running, they get checked instead.
How do I give you access to my site?
Once you sign up you get a short onboarding form asking for your WordPress admin login or a dedicated admin account can be created for me instead. Credentials are stored in an encrypted file and are not kept beyond what is needed to service your account.
What if I need more than my included time?
Anything beyond your included time is charged at £150 per hour for businesses and £120 per hour for private customers, one hour minimum, then half hours. You will always be told before any billable work begins. Unused time does not roll over into the next month.
Can I change package?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect from the start of your next billing month. Get in touch and it will be sorted.
Do you work with sites hosted anywhere?
Almost anywhere. Some of the work needs file level access to your hosting, which cheap shared hosting does not always allow. Tell me who hosts you and I will confirm before you sign up rather than after.
